| I'm not going to go in-depth of where this roleplay is currently starting and all that stuff, because as far as I'm aware, you've started this game twice - and one of them was under my command! So, same as before, post your character and house statistics. Please don't overdo it, blah-blah-blah! All that lovely stuff I'm sure you're aware of. :3
With that, best of luck, and may the best house win!

| The year is 298AL, and Robert Baratheon, the first of his name, is dead. His closest companion, Eddard Stark - Lord of Winterfell - was claimed a traitor, and his blood was spilled two days ago in the Great Sept of Baelor. The ravens have flown... and fly they shall for the death of such an honorable wolf. Too honorable, some might say...
As most already know, in the North, Robb Stark has already called his banners in a desire to retrieve his father, and his troops are marshaling at Winterfell. Soon will the wolves and their followers meet to match those loathsome lions...
Upon the small island of Dragonstone, Stannis Baratheon - the rightful heir to the Iron Throne - has sent ravens to his bannermen, calling them to gather at his castle. Each have been asked to send bannermen to the cause, and to acknowledge Stannis - Lord of Dragonstone - as the rightful claim to The Throne. Lord Darkly and Lord Drake have been called to Dragonstone with their men personally, though little reason of substance has been given...
Both lords have taken a vessel from their homelands in order to attend the event and announce the status of their respective Houses regarding the war that's currently a-brew. Lord Drake and his companion - Lyxen of the Roost - are currently arriving at Dragonstone, and are being escorted by a slight man with an ordinary face. He has brown hair and eyes, and a beard peppered with gray streaks. The first joints of the fingers of his left hand are missing, and he has a small white pouch hung around his neck. The man seems despondent, though it is quite obvious that he wishes to speak very little of the matter. Or anything at all, that is...
Lord Darkly arrived a few hours earlier with some of his trusted men, and has been asked to wait patiently until the arrival of Lord Drake, who was supposed to arrive the next day. Provided with a well-decorated room in the castle, alongside some of the servants to tend to his needs, little was to be complained about. Upon the arrival of Lord Drake however, word swiftly spreads to his ears of his early arrival. A
Soon after Lord Drake is shown to his temporary quarters, Stannis calls for the two lords - Lord of the Roost, and Lord of the Nest - to attend to a private meeting in his council chambers. Upon entering, they are greeted by the Lord, who is sat at the far side of a long table - dining on roasted duck with gravy, and a variety of fresh vegetables. The aroma of the food is a pleasant, welcoming one. There are two plates served with the same dish beside him, one on either side of the table - freshly cooked, and still steaming with brilliance. It is a fanciful treat, to be sure... no doubt a show of respect for two of the most well-respected houses of Dragonstone.
Like his brothers, Robert and Renly, Stannis is a large man - tall, broad shouldered and sinewy. While he is not described as being particularly unattractive, he is also not considered as handsome as Renly or Robert was in his youth. Stannis has dark blue eyes. His head has only a fringe of black hair "like the shadow of a crown," and a close-cropped beard across his large jaw. His face has a tightness to it like cured leather, and he has hollow cheeks. He has thin, pale lips.
To the two flighty lords, Stannis is known to be a serious, stubborn, unforgiving man with an inflexible sense of duty and justice. He neither dissembles nor flatters. He is obsessed with slights both real and imagined, causing him to grind his teeth regularly. The Lord of Dragonstone is an accomplished commander, sailor, and warrior, although his personality - to some - hinders his ascension to being a truly great leader. While he is almost certainly respected and feared, he has never been loved, or had the affection of nobles or the smallfolk.
However, standing in the light of the burning flames behind him, is a tall woman clad in red. She is a great beauty, with long hair the color of burnished copper, and has pale unblemished skin. She is slender and graceful, and taller than most knights. She has full breasts, a narrow waist, and a heart-shaped face. Her voice is sonorous, with an exotic accent. As is the custom of the Red priests of her faith, she wears red or crimson clothing, usually long gowns of silk. She is never without the red gold choker that fits snuggly around her neck. This, of course, the the Red Priestess the two have heard much about recently... though she remains distant and quiet as they both enter the council chambers.
"Take a seat." Stannis says, his voice hoarse and serious. "Eat, or do not, it's just a customary measure. You both know why you're here, and why you won't be if you give me the answer I'm looking for. I'm sure, as respected as you are to the causes of the Lord of Dragonstone, I shouldn't need to ask you so... personally. But... who's to question the loyalties of men these days, when such a thing is as fickle as the fate of the Starks, hm?"

| Lord of the Roost- Spoiler:
Lord Drake enters the room with a fair amount of pride behind his intentions, and after a momentary respite in the doorway to observe his surroundings, fixes his eyes on the Red Woman who lingers in the background - as distant as the lord she sought to show her apparent faith to. Stannis, the broad-shouldered Lord of Dragonstone seemed to be as cold as ever. An amusing contrast, he thought. His personality was a mirror to the red priestess who stood so vigilantly behind him, after all.
After a thankful nod to the man who had escorted him to the council chambers, he makes his way to the right hand side of the table and takes a seat. His amethyst eyes are immediately drawn to the middle-aged man - Lord of the Nest - who had entered beside him. It had been quite some time since they had last met, and their previous meeting had been on relatively good terms. Historical events between the two flighty houses had been of beneficial value to the two. Some terms and favours had been laid out here and there, and ever since, the two had been co-operating with minimal conflict. A meeting of the two respective lords had always been customary ever since, which was probably why Stannis had sought to bring them together once more. Lord Drake assumed that he had brought them together for the lack of fuss that would follow. It seemed, that even between the Lord of Dragonstone and his brother(s), there was tension in the air. A lack of tension was certainly a good idea to ease the mind, especially since most houses had some grudge or another against their rivals... and even their allies, in some cases. Lord Drake certainly endeavored to keep decent relations with House Darkly, and with the banner-houses that followed him.
Lord Drake gave the Lord of the Nest a quick, respectful nod before paying full attention to the bromidic personality that was Stannis, who he rarely cared to write to, never mind meet in person. Lord Darkly, on the other hand, was certainly a welcome face amongst the ranks of the council chambers.
"You have the allegiance of my house, my lord." he began, nodding his head once more. He seemed to smile, and then his hands came to rest upon one another on the table in front. His long, silver hair flowed. "Though, I shall be needing a vessel for means of transport, should you wish for my troops to aid you in your advance for the throne." That Valyrian blood of his seemed to course right through him as he made affairs with the Lord of Dragonstone. Although he was adept at intrigue, he spoke very little to Stannis, and merely waited for the other lord to join the table. That much, was evident...

| Lord of the Nest- Spoiler:
Darkly entered last, following the roostling inside, as befitting his perceived status. He had traveled in a leather long-coat, black, over which was strapped a weather-worn breastplate, with his house's sigil proudly displayed atop it. Even in waters so close to the capital, the lordling was loathe to tempt fate, and so had come with his usual arms and armour. No disrespect intended, of course, just a simple precaution. Vartas nodded politely to both his liege, and his attendant, before taking his place by Lord Drake. He didn't sit, but stood beside him, placing his hand possessively on the back of his seat.
While listening to the exchange, Darkly ran a free hand through his silvery hair - an example of the Valyrian heritage that ran through his veins. A remnant of a bastard borne of those bastards Blackfyre; at the time, a shame for the family. Now, a point of pride; a dragon's a dragon, be they black or green or red. Crows, as his own house's words suggested, were a different matter... When the drake had finished his own contribution, Vartas nodded along, and continued. "Aye, and I shall, too," He smirked the faintest of smirks, though stared blankly at the table the entire time; while he had little love for this Stannis, he doubted he was a man for whom love was a concern. Instead, he simply respected him, and that was all such as him could command, all he would need to. "House Darkly stands with our liege, his lordship Stannis, of course, as we have for sixteen years. If those rather... revolting rumours that have been abound are true, then you are the rightful king of us all. All good men should pledge themselves to you," Again, that smirk. "Though, not all men are good,"

| Dragonstone Stannis Baratheon eyed the two silver-haired lords with a burning passion of conspiracy, as if to silently tell the two to pay a little more respect. Each of their eyes had been drawn to the table, or the Red Priestess, and he'd noticed that their stares were empty; like empty promises just thrown at him. Although his composure wasn't broken, the patient man that he was, a scowl seemed to form... and those teeth of his had begun to grit.
"I see. I presume you'll be looking me in the eyes the next time your tongues move then, no?" he quipped, holding back a self-humored chuckle. "Now, with respect to the both of you, you may return to your quarters. You've both kindly supplied my hounds with food for the night," he continued, gesturing towards the untouched food he'd supplied for the two. "Lord Drake, your transport will be arranged. When necessary, I will dispatch some vessels to carry your men. Lord Darkly, the same goes for you, should the Crows choose not to fly there. If only the Lord of Light could grant you wings, Lord" the lord jested, smirking towards the priestess behind him. She seemed amused, and even fancied herself a slight jest herself. It was almost like she was prodding back at him.
"He has a keen liking for fire, my liege. Wings of fire? The last time anybody saw those, it was with fear in their eyes. A burning passion of hatred for the beast in question. Dragons aren't meant to burn, after all..." she said, stepping forward. The light of the fire illuminated her pale face, and the crimson streaks of her beautiful, long hair. Stannis stifled a chuckle, as if this was some sort of inside joke for the two.
"I had ravens sent to most of banner-houses... but you two. You two are different, aren't you? I figured you'd much prefer the company of the other. Lord Drake, you never write back. Lord Darkly, you always seem so... despondent. Nevertheless, a meeting was in order. It has been a while... and Melisandre has been eager to meet you both..."

| Lord of the Nest- Spoiler:
Darkly raised an eyebrow at that, though he lowered it before he looked at his lord. Grinding his teeth together in much the same way he'd heard Stannis was fond of doing, he nodded sharply, curtly. And such is our king. "Aye, Your Grace. Understood," he said firmly, applying the proper style of this man who would be king. He had made his point, and rather well, at that. Dipping his head, as a mark of respect, he loosed a breath, before letting that smirk return back to his face, in an effort to ease the situation.
Addressing his attendant properly for the first time, this Melisandre, he dipped his head, again. "My lady," he said, first. "Surely all men should have a liking for fire, for it brings heat, life, energy, and other such glories?... Though that's not to say that shadows do not have their uses, to the unscrupulous and scrupulous alike... But, forgive the asking, why such interest?" He could probably guess the answer himself, but he was given not to assume, especially around this king, especially around this Red Queen.
Her done, he looked down to his own fellow lord, and then back to his liege, his king, if he was correct. "Our houses are close, aye, that much is obvious. As for my despondency... Well, what is there to be cheerful about? Your Grace himself is hardly known for having an upbeat manner. You're known for justice, and justice should be dour. Why shouldn't I, when that is what this war concerns?"

| Lord of the Roost- Spoiler:
Lord Drake, in an attempt to prevent further disrespectful mannerisms, takes a stand and holds out his right hand - evidently wishing to shake the Lord of Dragonstone by the hand. He did not, after all, find the Red Priestess's jest amusing. "My Lord, with no disrespect meant, if you're going to judge a man by the way he uses his eyes, you should head down to the Brothel. You have my word, and that is what you asked for. You didn't ask me to look you in the eyes, nor did you ask me to bend the knee. Not yet, at least. I am known for my honour, and if you are to question it, why have you brought me here in the first place?"
Though questionable, and though his words might have been disregarded for purely being out of line, at least they had meaning - a purpose. Nevertheless, he seemed to smile in an amiable fashion, though it was not clear as to which of the two he had issued it. It was clear, however, that his parting words were directed at the Red Woman.
"My Lord. My Lady." he announced, dipping his head to both equally. "May the Night Prevail." he quoted, smirking in a rather wry fashion. And with that, the Lord of the Roost made his exit. He was not the type to drag things out, especially when his point had already been made. Especially not to a lord who seemed so impatient as to grit his teeth at something so minor. This Lord was obviously on edge. Lord Drake seemed to want to test how close he was to this edge... to see if a little push would send him falling and cursing. A worthy ruler would certainly see past it... no?

| Dragonstone Stannis glared at Lord Drake with a hint of contempt, though there was a sense of respect for the man's honesty glimmering in those dark eyes of his. Not a many after the Lord of the Roost has finished speaking, Stannis stood and firmly grasped the man by the hand. Stannis pulled him a little closer, bringing him into the eery personal space that seemed to hover over him like an aura. "So be it." he announced, being sure to make it difficult to tell whether or not that contempt was still there. "Despite your barbaric form of formalities, as you Drakes have always had, you stand for well-made points. That is something I can respect, at least. Though... do try and keep your blood from boiling. I know it must be ever so hard for you, sometimes." he then let go of the man's hand, and dipped his head with a soft smirk.
The Red Woman seemed to glare at Lord Drake as well, though her gaze was much more far-seeing than that of the Lord that sat beside her. It was almost as if she was reaching deep within him, to grasp at something, like one would do in the darkness. "Without the darkness, there would be no light. And with every night, comes a morning. The cycle continues... always." she said, being sure to answer the pair with a single statement.
After the Lord of the Roost had left, Stannis seemed to let out a deep sigh, and then afterwards: a chuckle of amusement. "Still quite the character, isn't he? I was expecting as much." he added, though his tone seemed to suggest a building repression of hatred for the man. His teeth were still gritting, after all. "At least you are more civil with your formalities. That is something I can manage... and though I have no doubt that Lord Drake will provide to be very useful in the upcoming war, I may need to keep my eyes on him. Far too much trust is thrown around these islands of yours. You should be careful..."

| Lord of the Nest- Spoiler:
"Less than you know, Your Grace," he said stiffly, folding his arms, as if to brace himself against the coldness in the room. The hounds, is it? Do you see us in them, I wonder? Is Drake the rutting bitch in heat? Darkly smirked, shadows playing about the corners of that smile. Stepping back into a slight bow, to allow his kingship to pass on by, he glanced to the Red Woman when they were alone.
Vartas stood there for a while, and examined her properly for what seemed to be the first time. Her rough-spun ruddy robes, her scarlet hair, the jewel about her throat, all of it felt... unusual. Some would go so far as to say 'wrong', but the lord was not so sure. For the moment, he shrugged of such concerns as the misgivings of someone who was unused to seeing a woman speak with such a voice at a king's table, and such an odd woman at that. He dipped his head. "My lady, if you yourself require nothing of me, I would take my leave, and retire," Leave or no, this room seemed... stale to him. Too much hot air, too much cold air. It was not to his liking.

| Dragonstone Stannis thinks for a moment, and then nods to confirm his thoughts. "Hmph. By morrow's afternoon, I will be leading my forces to besiege Storm's End. I hope my brother isn't foolish enough to decline a position as my heir, and a position in the king's small council. I am the rightful heir, and I shall take what is mine. Renly fails to perceive the world through the eyes of a king, and instead observes with the eyes of a follower. It's a shame that every follower wishes to achieve leadership, especially when their views are clouded by potential rewards of power."
"You and Lord Drake will combine the forces you have brought with you, and will march with me to Storm's End to put an end to Renly's persistence. If I fail to convince him otherwise, you know what must be done."
Stannis didn't take any more time to dwell on the subject, and after a quick debriefing, soon left the room without another word muttered. The Red Priestess, however, remained in the room - gazing deeply into the flaming chainpot that illuminated the foremost of the room from above. The fire seemed wild and untamed as she gazed, like something was amiss, until finally... her eyes were drawn from the flames, and were immediately upon Lord Darkly. She smiled and shook her head.
"Nothing at all, Lord Darkly." she began as she approached the exit, sweeping past him... almost hovering like a ghost towards the large doors. "The fire is content, and I find myself growing weary of the night. I shall retreat to my chambers to rest. May the Lord of Light watch over you in these dark times, Lord Darkly. Your Lord will be needing your assistance in the upcoming struggle, I'm sure..."
As Lord Drake leaves the room, he notices that Davos Seaworth is sitting on a bench nearby, seemingly occupied with some concerning thoughts of his own still. He seems to shy away from Stannis as he leaves the room. However, when Melisandre also exits the room, he seems to catch her glare, and the two exchange filthy and untrustworthy looks, before the woman departs to her quarters. Not long after that, no doubt, Lord Darkly would follow...

| Lord of the Nest
- Spoiler:
Lord Darkly milled about in the room for a few minutes more, before taking his own leave of it. Through the walls, he could hear the rumbling of waves on Valyrian shaped stone below, and he was given to wondering whether that tide was a happy, an angry, or a mournful one. Do they grin, glare, or weep? Perhaps this R'hllor would know.
Upon leaving the room, he found himself face to face with Davos Seaworth the Smuggler Lord, and Lord Drake, his fellow half-breed. Plotters in arms, or just two honest men? He favoured the latter, though one never really knew; a healthy suspicion was far better than a healthy case of mortality. Darkly curtly, oh-so curtly, nodded to each, addressing them in turn. "Seaworth, Drake. Lords," he let the word linger. Sometimes it was better to linger, rather than storm out in a flit of furious honesty. "If you would have stayed, you'd be given to knowing that we're to set out for Storm's End on the morrow. King Stannis means to treat with Lord Renly... In light of that, I suggest you both ready your men. I know I shall,"

| Lord of the Roost- Spoiler:
Lord Drake, although caught up in his own thoughts for a moment, seemed to break free of his imagination once the Lord of the Nest had made his exit from the council chambers. After a few small nods, he seemed to let a smile spread across his lips. "I see." he said, musing on some more thoughts. "Hm, in that case, I'll ready my men for the march on the morrow as well. Knowing King Stannis, he'll more than likely make Lord Renly an offer he shouldn't refuse. Either way, the potential outcomes suit me just fine..."
With that, Lord Drake dips his head in respect and makes a hasty retreat to the garrison where his men are currently stationed in order to address them in lieu of the events for the following day. Afterwards, he then makes his way to Lyxen's quarters and does the same for him; telling him that he is to ride beside Lord Darkly and him along the way. If all is well, Lord Drake then returns to his chambers and gets his attire ready for the journey ahead, locks his door, and then rests for the night.

| Dragonstone The night soon comes to and end as the two lords rest, and awake with a rejuvenated sense of duty to their liege lord. Reinvigorated, after a relatively peaceful and quiet respite, the two are welcomed to the early morning by a knock at each of their chamber doors; a servant sent to fetch them from their slumber. In the garrison nearby, the gathered troops can be heard leaving in their appropriate attires, with flags raised in lieu of the lord's they follow. Those of the troops that belong to Stannis Baratheon take lead, whilst the other units wait for the command of their respective lords at the docks.
Amongst the ranks of the King in the Narrow Sea's ordinary ships is a slightly larger and more impressive vessel, with an aquamarine flag that flies upon the mast. A silver seahorse is rampant upon it. This, no doubt, is the flag of House Velaryon - an ancient and proud house, with the blood of old Valyria in its veins. Lord Monford Velaryon - Lord of the Tides - has also answered Stannis Baratheon's summons now that he has crowned himself King and called his banners for aid in the upcoming war.
A nice sum of other vessels, naturally, await for the rest of the troops to board them.

| Lord of the Roost- Spoiler:
After donning his padded gambeson, followed by his set scaled armour, and finally a thick tabard with his coat of arms emblazoned upon the black velvet - he attaches his tanned leather belt across his waist, donned with his heirloom - Hallow's Edge, his Valyrian Steel bastard sword. He carries it (and himself) with pride down to the docks, and upon meeting his gathered troops, commands them to take aboard the ships. He spares little voice of appraisal for the appearance of House Valaryon, and boards a ship with Lyxen of the Roost. Although House Valaryon had Valyrian blood in its veins, and Lord Drake certainly had some respect for them because of it, he couldn't help but admonish them regarding their impatience.
Either way, joining Lyxen aboard one of the ships, he makes haste for one of the cabins and beckons him to follow. Upon entering and locking the door behind him, he turns to Lyxen with a smirk. "So, did you do as I asked, Ser?"

| Lord of the Nest- Spoiler:
Darkly woke groggily; the dawn came far too soon, as always, as always... He paced for a time, before the sound of man and horse wafted up from the courtyard, at which point he re-donned his breastplate, having had it cleaned to a shine that night. After strapping his sword belt about his waist - which held a longsword on one end, and a dirk at the other (castle-forged, of course) - and placing his metal shield upon his back, he exited his room, to join with and direct his men.
At seeing the sun glint off of the arms emblazoned on his breastplate and shield, when he strolled into the courtyard, he had to smile. A right lordly sight, and though it hardly mattered to him, such a thing was important to some. He had brought some seven hundred men with him to Dragonstone, leaving only his Garrison men behind to guard his seat; it held no family for him, for he had none, so he was rather loathe to waste any men on it. Either way, they would certainly need organising...
(Testing Warfare (Command) to organise their boarding of ships. Did so on F-List, with Dante as witness!)

| Dragonstone- Spoiler:
It doesn't take long for all of the gathered troops to board the ships, and before long, Stannis gives word for all of them to depart towards Storm's End. Lord Drake and personal guards board House Valaryon's flagship, the Pride of Driftmark, which has an astonishingly beautiful silver hull. The rest of his men board the sister ships - Bold Laughter and Harridan. Lord Darkly and his personal guard board the last sister ship, Seahorse, while the rest of his troops gather upon the other warships nearby. After all of the men have boarded and are ready to leave, Stannis gives word to set sail for Storm's End.
Lyxen of the Roost, who is now with Lord Drake in his cabin, smirks and nods his head with a sense of accomplishment."Yes, m'lord. Stannis departed for his private quarters just after you addressed me last night. The Red Woman followed closely in toe, and the two conversed quietly inside of his private chambers." Lyxen took a moment to recollect his thoughts, and then nodded. "Melisandre spoke of two futures she had seen in her flames. One in which Stannis is defeated in King's Landing by his brother Renly, and one in which he sails to Storm's End, where his brother shall die, and his men will flock to Stannis's side. I also managed to-"
There is a sharp knock at the cabin door, cutting Lyxen off immediately. He looks towards the door, and then back to Lord Drake with a glimmer of distaste in his eyes. Lyxen approaches the door and opens it up, putting on a friendly smile. Lord Monford Valaryon, a handsome man with long, fair hair is standing with two of his personal guards standing at either side. They seem to be held back by Lord Drake's own personal guards, who seemed adamant in protecting his privacy. Lord Valaryon clears his throat, as if to prompt Lord Drake to command his men to step down - looking right past Lyxen of the Roost.
"Lord Drake. I understand that your privacy is a foremost concern, but I need not remind you that this is my ship, not yours. Now, if you'll please..." he prompts, giving Lord Drake's personal guards a cold-hearted glare. Ser Lyxen promptly steps aside and looks towards his Lord of the Roost rather inquisitively.
Lord Darkly, on the other hand, is immediately confronted by a handsome man with silver-gold hair and grey-green eyes. He has a cleft in his chin, and has a beard. He is young, no older than twenty-five. He holds his hand out to greet the lord, and dips his head respectfully. He seems somewhat jovial. "Aurane Waters." he begins, looking the lord over. "Lord Darkly, no? I've heard a lot about you..."

Darkly greeted the Bastard of Driftmark with a nod, but when he smiled his force smile, his eyes did not see fit to join in on the mummery. "You have?" he said, with only a hint of feigned excitement. "And yet, I've heard so very little of you... Tell me, what have you heard of me, Waters? Rarely do I get a chance to indulge my own sense of vanity..." Especially when I have to deal with bastards instead of lords, though he left that part unsaid. Again, he smirked, in a way that only he could; it was the smirk of a man who liked everyone else to think he knew everything, when in fact he made it all up as he went. The illusion of unpredictability, no less. He left that bastard there, and moved past him, with the expectation that he would follow, though he hardly cared, truth be told. Vartas began his walk down the length of the ship, towards the prow, to admire the figurehead.
"My men will take care of my security detail. Yours shall see to the manning of the ship," he called back to Aurane as he went. "I will take the Captain's quarters. We will dine there tonight. Of course... I'm perfectly willing for you to remain as captain..." he said, before muttering: "One would hope the Bastard of Driftmark could at least captain a seahorse," as he roamed his way down the ship.

Lord Drake waves a hand in a rather dismissive manner and calls off his guards, and then nods to Lyxen as if to prompt him to back away from the door. "My apologies. Your men seemed somewhat subservient upon the sight of my own, and naturally stepped down. Or, so it seemed..." he mused, approaching Lord Valaryon himself. He peered from left to right, spreading his vision this way and that to check for any sight of Valaryon's own men, and then shrugged. "See? I suppose my status is renowned across the banner-houses of Dragonstone. I'm flattered, really." Evidently, the lord is jesting, hoping to share his strange sense of humour with Lord Valaryon.
"But no, I'll see to it that my men don't work too hard around here. It'd be unfair otherwise, no?" he chuckles. "My apologies, Lord Valaryon. I do not wish to put this fine ship of yours to shame. I just didn't want my men standing around doing nothing..."

| The Narrow Sea "Lord Drake, while I admire the dedication and professionalism of your soldiers - and I understand that they have had much more experience on the battlefield than my own men - it doesn't restrict you, their commander and lord, from showing some appreciation for hospitality once in a while." Lord Valaryon takes a moment to mend his broken composure, feeling a little hot under the collar after Lord Drake's rather honest opinion - though it was an opinion that endeavored to be true, of course! Lord Valaryon, quite evidently, does not like to face the truth... and actually feels quite intimidated by the Lord's presence already. Lord Valaryon clears his throat and then dips his head in respect. "My lord, if you'll excuse me, I must see to it that this ship does not crash under the weight of your ego." he says, mustering up the courage to actually speak his mind. He then dips his head again and departs for the upper-decks, striding forth with angered steps.
Ser Lyxen shrugs off the encounter, as if he's seen many like it to last him a lifetime. He then closes the door and folds his arms, and slumps onto a chair nearby. "Anyway, where were we?" he says, finding the whole ordeal rather commonplace. "Ah yes, as I was saying... I also managed to get a hold of that old contact of ours. He said that he'd be more than happy to supply you with the sellswords you asked for. A hefty fee was noted, but... he insisted that he'd make us a deal. He said he'd be in touch again soon, and that he'd like to speak with you personally once our endeavours at Storm's End have closed. Apparently, they are to meet us at our docking point - courtesy of the favour you granted him, according to your previous meeting..." Lyxen smirks and takes a stand, and then makes for the door. He turns over his shoulder before leaving. "I'll make sure that your men aren't mocking the weaker ones about this ship. Gods above, I miss the land already..."
Aboard the Seahorse, Lord Darkly is still confronted with Aurane Waters, the half-brother of Lord Valaryon, and apparent bastard. He seems to take a moment to think, as if to recall what he'd heard of Lord Darkly and his potential doings. "Well, rumours tend to fly when you're allied with House Drake. Some good, some bad... mostly the former, fortunately for us. You're both doing rather well for yourselves, aren't you? Last I heard, you and Lord Drake were out hunting together, and you faced off against a group of bandits all by yourselves. Is it true? I heard that you and him are rather renowned for your swordplay. Though, to most, your relationship with him is still... questionable."
It didn't take him long for that amiable disposition to drop once the mention of the captain and his capabilities came about. "It seems that you've not heard much of me at all." he begins, clearing his throat for a moment. "Do as you wish regarding the security of the ship, and I shall do my best to command the route. We'll be there with swift haste as long as your men are smart enough to not get in the way of my sailors. All I require is the helm and my cabin." and with that, to refrain himself from losing any more of his dented composure, begins to make haste in the opposite direction. He stops, and then turns again. "Oh, one thing though..." he says, glaring. "If you do meet Lord Valaryon, be sure not to upset him. He's an impatient man, and can become quite... aggravated. His composure is little to be aspired for, and if broken, may just see to the outbreak of a violent encounter. Good luck to Lord Drake on that one. I imagine my lord is already frothing at the mouth considering Lord Drake's ego is as large as Jaime Lannister's."

| Lord of the Roost- Spoiler:
Lord Drake takes a pouch of Silver Stags from his belt and tosses it to Ser Lyxen, being sure to send a rather wry smirk his way in the process. So, he wants to strike another deal, does he? How peculiar... After gathering all of his necessary writing components - parchment, an inkwell and a quill - he then moves to his desk and begins writing a letter of response.
I'm currently writing to you from aboard the Pride of Driftmark, so excuse my shabby handwriting. It seems the captain is in quite a mood, for some strange reason. If his men are greener than they look, I doubt I'll be able to wash the stench of sick from my clothes before I arrive at Lord Renly's humble abode.
Once my ordeals regarding the besieging of Storm's End have come to a halt, I'll have Ser Lyxen send you an invitation to Dragon's Roost. It has been quite some time since we met face-to-face, and even more time since we sat down to discuss more of our little project. From what I've heard, you've been making quite a lot of progress, as have I. I'll be sure to update you further once we're dining at The Roost, but for now this letter shall serve as a quick update on my own progress. Ser Lyxen has been an invaluable asset since I purchased his services from you. He's a smart lad; nothing gets past him. You have my sincerest appreciation for the swift dispatch of the mercenaries I'veaskedfor. It makes one ponder as to why you might be so desperate to please me before wanting to meet with me face-to-face. But I'm sure, considering that our last proposition was mutually beneficial, that it's nothing to worry about. Until we're both at The Roost, though... there's not much information I can part with. I'm sure you understand...
May the Night Prevail, Lord Drake.
He inserts the letter into an envelope, and then seals it with his mark of authenticity. After handing the sealed letter to Lyxen, he nods his head. "You know what to do. I'm going to rest up before the march is upon us. See to it that my men aren't doing all the work. It seems the captain gets quite intimidated when he can't order his men to do the jobs they should be familiar with."

| Lord of the Nest- Spoiler:
The crow lord had to smile that time. If Waters carried on like this, he might even grow to like him... Or at the very least, appreciate him. "What wroth he brings down upon himself is his problem, not mine. We're close, aye, closer than many houses... But that doesn't mean I won't find it amusing when that ego of his crushes him underfoot... Though, it's not entirely baseless..." He left it at that, and left the bastard there.
Darkly was very much aware that he would be deprived of amusements of the basest kind; camp followers were unlikely at best on ships, especially from such desolate lands. That, and he reckoned that whores and washerwomen (see: whores in disguise) were not like to favour the side of dead men, even walking corpses with as wide a culinary palette as he... It was unfortunate, indeed. He hated the boredom that festered on such militaristic vessels, and as such found himself particularly restless that day, pacing aimlessly, and ordering the odd man to redo his work, so that he might prove he could do it properly.

| The Pride of Driftmark- Spoiler:
Lyxen took the letter and slipped it into his bag, and then made way for the deck to make sure that Lord Drake's commands were seen to. Lord Valaryon was at the helm, brushing down his coat, and squabbling back and forth with the impatience of a shark who's sighted a fresh catch behind a screen of glass. Upon seeing Lyxen, he stopped his pacing and pointed a finger. Then his two guards nodded, and before he knew it, Lyxen was confronted by the three. He raised an eyebrow inquisitively, with his hands on his hips. "Yes? What is it?" he grumbled. A few of Lord Drake's men stepped to Lyxen's side with their hands on the hilts of their blades.; at the ready to counter the Lord Valaryon's men.
"Lord Drake's faithful first-blade, no?" he began, looking the man over. Lyxen had fair, long silver hair and shaded purple eyes, like gemstones. He was tall, and his figure was slightly lithe. He was young; definitely no older than 25, it seemed. "Your Lord has no respect for anybody other than himself. How much does he pay you to keep your tongue tied as to not mock him?"
Lyxen smirked. "It's hard to tie a sharp tongue, especially when my tongue is almost as sharp as my blade. While my Lord aims to service the security functions of your ship, you complain. Now, are you complaining about a slight and temporary change that is inevitably for the better, or are you complaining about your inability to train your own men to understand the concept of improvement? Either way, please keep your opinions to yourself. While I understand that this is, indeed, your own ship - and a beautiful one at that - Lord Drake merely sought to help you with seeing that you lack a certain skill of command. If nobody else has told you that you need to work on your understanding of rank-and-order, then he's certainly the one to do it. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have some troops to look over." Lyxen turns, and then stops to look back at Lord Valaryon. "Oh, and some of your men are drinking and gambling in the hold. You might want to see to it that they are fit for duty before a mutiny breaks out."
Lord Valaryon, now outraged by the man's lack of respect - or just his honesty - draws his blade, thinking it wise to command some authority. His guards do the same, but are nowhere near as quick on the draw as Lord Drake's men, who already have their blades to the other's throats. Lyxen too, matches the Lord's draw. Valaryon steps forward. "A duel, then? To settle it?" Lyxen of the Roost glares at Lord Valaryon and nods his head. "Gladly. First blood, yes?"
The two soon begin to bout, and Lord Drake - from the Captain's Cabin - can hear the ruckus of disbelief once the duel had come to an end. Not long after, Lyxen appears back at the cabin with a bloodied blade and a wide smirk painted across his lips. "Not one for settling things with words, is he?" he says to his lord. And with that, merely sits with Lord Drake until the ship arrives at Storm's End. The Seahorse- Spoiler:
Aurane Waters chuckles at Lord Darkly's remark, and nods his head. "Aye, I can almost bet that there will be blood running over the decks of The Pride before we reach Storm's End. And, knowing Lord Valaryon, it will be of his own undoing. I've seen Lord Drake, and Lyxen of the Roost fight... they're certainly up there with the best. I expect Lord Valaryon will be of a foul mood, and I'm going to find it highly amusing that he's bloodied himself again. I expect he'll be wanting to exert some wrath upon the Bastard of Driftmark once we arrive, and I'll be nary a distance from him to prevent it. I do hope he's been poked a hole or two. It'll certainly serve him right for questioning The Lord and Lyxen, when they are - by far - the better of him." he chuckles again, and then departs for the helm. Naturally, Aurane Waters keep the ship steady for a smooth sail.
After a very long journey through the Narrow Sea - especially so for Lord Darkly - the ship arrives at Storm's End. It is the third ship to arrive, only a few hours after the Pride of Driftmark and Stannis's own flagship. It seems like, already, their are troops lined up neatly - ready to make a march for Storm's End, to besiege Lord Renly's castle. It looms eerily in the distance...
Storm's End- Spoiler:
Lord Drake of the Roost and Lord Darkly of the Nest are immediately greeted by Stannis Baratheon, who is waiting at the docks with Davos Seaworth and Melisandre, the Red Woman. Each of the lord's troops march neatly and in uniform to land, clearly outperforming the other troops aboard the ships they had served on. Stannis, who seemed pleased at the sight, peers over Lord Darkly's shoulder, expecting Lord Valaryon to closely follow behind. Below and behold, he soon appears - bandaged across the shoulder and left leg - limping slowly behind the ranks of his own troops.
Stannis steps forward. "Lord Valaryon? Trouble at sea?" he asks, quite surprised. "Or, at least, something to that effect. I'm not surprised that your impatience has once again gotten the better of you. While I respect you wish to see me take the Iron Throne, I do not respect however, that you are as incompetent as the King's Fool." he says, looking towards Lord Drake with a frown.
"A problem with his men, was it?" he begins, shaking his head grimly. "Your men are some of the best in Westeros, however little you may have of them. Just try to keep your ego atone should you wish to serve me, Lord Drake. Now, all of you, get your men in line and ready to march. Lord Drake and Lord Darkly, you'll be riding with me and my army. Lord Valaryon, stay at the back with the cattle."

| Lord of the Roost- Spoiler:
Lord Drake calmly shakes his head, adorning a slight smirk. "A problem with his men? Not quite. A problem with his lord? Undoubtedly so." he insisted, taking a brief glance towards Lyxen; who's judgement he trusted entirely. "By my orders, if Ser Lyxen was to find claim to a problem, then he was to deal with it in a suitable manner. The failure of diplomacy lead to the Captain of the Pride's silence, and that is all I can say for his subservient tendencies." With that all said and done, Lord Drake bows his head and continues to stride his way down the docks, until finally his boots were met with the cobblestone of land.
He advanced, his small army marching behind him in perfect rhythm; all adorned in black steel armour, with the crest of House Drake engraved into their chest plates. Their helmets were shaped to represent the head of a dragon, similar to that of the Clegane's tributes. Dark brass buckles kept their accessories in check, and their hardened leather belts kept each of their longswords within easy reach. Upon their backs, attached to a harness slung over their shoulders, winged spears were held in place. Both were crafted from the finest of castle-forged steel. The four most skilled and trusted members of his personal guard followed closely at his side; cloaked in midnight blue, with a gleaming passion of purple glimmering in their eyes. It pierced the darkness of their helmets; a renowned trait that Lord Drake admired; a proud fondness of the Targaryen bloodline his kind held. They were distinguishable on the battlefield - for friend and foe - to fear, or admire.
Before long, Lord Drake comes to a halt and turns to face his men. He orders them to line up in neat rows, and addresses them concisely. "We'll be marching with Lord Stannis and Lord Darkly for Storm's End. I imagine we'll be making camp there so that Lord Stannis can settle a position for a potential siege, should his efforts in communication with his brother, Lord Renly, be in vain." he takes a moment to think, and then smirks; his vision perusing the area. "Stay in line until we reach our destination, and keep your eyes and ears out for any trouble. You are under Ser Lyxen and I's command. Now, raise our banners and join the ranks. Ser Lyxen and I will be riding beside Lord Darkly."
Lord Drake then mounts his horse and sets himself into position beside the two lords he should be riding with. The barding of his horse is of the same steel his personal guard are adorned with, contrasting against the spotted grey fur of its pelt. After settling into position, he looks back over the ranks behind them to check for banners; an attempt to tally up the dedicated men that wish to aid Lord Stannis. He notices that the Valaryon banners are dead-set at the very back.
After doing so, he turns to Lord Darkly and smiles under his own helmet. A slight echo seems to taint his tone. "Lord Darkly..." he begins, eying him over. "The last time we rode to battle together, we were able to ride back again; our armies not touched by fire and blood, unlike those who opposed us. What do you make of this whole ordeal?"
