| The Cleansing of Blackdown- Spoiler:
Vallance T. Flynn, Ki-ARA and Aeron Raynes Ki-ARA turned towards the inquisitive detective with a sincere smile, answering his question as thoroughly as her databases allowed her: "The town of Blackdown: an old and crumbling little trading port that's carved into the side of a rocky islet. It has grown in reputation as a place where the seeds of a functioning government are being sewn. The Warford family, the traditional "mayors" of the town, have worked tirelessly for the past two centuries to make Blackdown a safe haven within the Frontier. There are those however who view any kind of establishment of order within the Frontier as a dire evil, and they would rather see Blackdown in flames than have anything resembling the Admiralty take spawn. That's why there's a trained militia. They often have to fend off attacking pirates from the Frontier, and are often successful."
Her tail whiffed about from side to side as the pair continued to make their way back to Vallance's temporary place of residence. It wasn't too far from Warehouse 13; the remnants of shattered glass and plasma rounds that had scorched the walls earlier lead the way. Ki-ARA's eyes lit up to guide them through the dark of the alleyways, providing them with enough luminance to safely traverse their way back. The feline continued to inform the detective with the requested information.
"Blackdown has a good reputation among pirates and bounty hunters, and often serves as a location for such people to port before heading over to Ka'ath: where Bounty Hunters drop off their captured bounties, usually at the unofficially established HQ that's aptly named The Net. It's actually considered to be-"
Ki-ARA was interrupted by a gigantic shadow slipping over them, tossing them into a heavier sheet of darkness. The hull of a large warship soon came into view as it passed by, and the detective's eyes soon caught on as he turned to see why she'd suddenly ceased to supply him with information. Feline showed a sign of fear in her posture, her fur frothing as chills ran down her spine. "Vallance... why is the Admiralty here?" Vallance took a brief moment to think things over. Ki-ARA then asked a better question. "Why is the Admiralty's Navy here?" Vallance was puzzled, but aware of their intent. Ki-ARA had already gathered sufficient enough information from their networks to come to an accurate conclusion. But she had little time to explain.
As her words were spoken, another three warships flew by. This time, it wasn't the roaring sound of the engines that startled the fellow night-dwellers passing the pair. It was the sound of cannon fire: blitzing echoes of explosive rounds whistling through the air in a fatal barrage, followed by blistering hot flames and the wistful screams of the innocent being taken by the scorching heat of dancing amber. Each of the warships matched the flagship's barrage with deadly and accurate shots of their own. This time the western ports were completely annihilated, along with all of airships docked there.
Ki-ARA grabbed the detective by the hand and tugged him along viciously. "They're not taking any chances with this guy, huh?" she spoke out loud, barely audible over the second volley of roaring cannons. Smaller airships tried to intercept them, but were struck down instantly by powerful plasma swivel guns. Shards of brass and stakes of wood tore through the air, whizzing through the imminent black smoke that clouded the streets and alleys. Vallance couldn't see a thing, but Ki-ARA lead the way to safety, heading north: the opposite direction of the warships - though they were bound to a sharp turn. It would take the large ships a fair amount of time to sway their way around, and thus, the feline took the opportunity to head towards the remaining docks.
Vallance followed, his eyes burning slightly from the thick clouds of smoke and dust. Ki-ARA seemed immune to such hazards. "We need to get out of here... fast." she called loudly, pushing an innocent bystander out of the way in order to get past. "An infamous pirate docked here a few days ago, and the Admiralty aren't about to let him slip away again. Your little stunt earlier brought the focused attention of the Admiralty to Blackdown, so they've sent nearby ships to ensure that this pirate is finished for good. That, and, well... I'm guessing they needed an excuse to wipe this place off the Skycharts for good."
Vallance had finally gotten his act together, though his gritted teeth showed frustration. "Are you sure?" he said, running a few ideas through his mind. "No, what am I saying... of course you are!" he chuckled, evidently not phased by the danger. His eyes hurt, but his mind was still just as eager to process information. Ki-ARA tugged him along again, though they were soon ambushed by footsoldiers all pointing their weapons at them. Vallance was about to show his badge to ensure his authority, but the feline stopped him.
They openly rained their ammunition upon the pair, but Ki-ARA's shielding bounced most of the rounds away. She took a round to the leg, though she was still capable of pushing the two into appropriate cover nearby: an old dumpster. Aqua blood ran down her furry thighs, and it was evident that she could feel the pain. She hissed and cuddled closer to the detective, tossing him a glance that asked him to protect her. "There's four of them, though the smoke is blowing towards them. We have the advantage." Vallance seemed hesitant to start shooting at fellow Admiralty members, but he knew that such stupidity was uncalled for...
Even the almighty Admiralty are imbecilic at times. he thought. I bet it's the new Captain giving orders without clarifying important data again. Seems likely considering his hatred of the place...
Aeron would have gathered the foremost of his belongings and assigned a temporary shielding unit for his broken window. Though it was no match for the incinerating blasts of cannonfire shockwaves - which tore right through the plasma protection with ease. Thick, black smoke filled the room, shrouding the half-crow in immediate, blinding darkness. He struggled to to see, though his Ryx'arian eyes granted him the sight through the window. The smoke was already beginning to filter back out again. He could hear people screaming, and the loud bursts of gunfire in the street below.
To Aeron, it was fairly obvious what was going on. It was a small strike team sent from the Admiralty to ensure Blackdown was to be rid of as soon as possible. After getting a quick glimpse at the turning airships above, it became even more evident that their main targets were the two docks to prevent escape. He could only assume that once they'd been dealt with, the teleporting facilities were next. Such attacks from the Admiralty were becoming far too common in the Frontier, as the new Captain of the Navy was hammering down on escaped convicts, pirates and other petty criminals. He was already renowned for his ruthless and merciless killing wherever his ships were sent. He cared little for collateral damage too..
The half-crow glanced out of the window once more, barely able to make out two hazy-looking figures in the depth of the gusty smoke. He could just about make out the swishing tail of the feline, though Vallance was much more difficult to see. Aeron could manage to make out their genders, and the fact that the male of the two was armed with two sidearms of some variety. The two were clearly under fire from the footsoldiers nearby, though he could also tell that the two weren't having any particular trouble with them. They seemed to know what they were doing... and were clearly not just ordinary folk on the streets.

Aeron Raynes
- Spoiler:
Somehow, Aeron managed to contain a cough that surely could've given away his position. He would have watched them for a time, but he had his own safety to consider, first. His room was hardly secure; in fact, once the floor below was purged, his was the first room they would come to. Though his... lineage was certainly unique, he could hardly expect a grunt to recognise him. He would be gunned down like he was just another target. Or Target. Luckily, it didn't take too much effort to push his bed against the door, though it groaned quite a bit more than he would have liked. His belongings, which could be contained in his backpack, clashed at it's place on his back as he walked back to the window.
The scene didn't seem to have developed much - perhaps shots had been fired in return, but he wouldn't be able to make out the scorch marks, not from this distance, in this light. He would have liked to rely on his warfare experience, but he was neither in command, or in an appropriate situation. Instead, he unsheathed his own weapon, which was not unlike a revolver, barring the brass finish, the velvet red handle, and glowing red fuel cells where the reloading mechanism might be. The nozzle was almost twice the size of a normal revolver, too; this was a weapon for power, range, and accuracy. He stood there, lining up his weapon for as long as he needed to, before he let loose his first barrage. He could only hope that his superiour position would eliminate what rust might have accumilated about his skills.

| Vallance T. Flynn, Ki-ARA and Aeron Raynes- Spoiler:
Aeron's aim was decent, though the refracting light of plasma lanterns (the only source of luminance nearby), provided insufficient ambiance in order for him to determine the appropriate direction in which to aim through the mist. Everything seemed... too blurry to even consider pinpoint accuracy from such a location.
His revolver fired off a few rounds at the pull of the weapon's light and easy trigger, sending heated rounds towards the footsoldiers. One, maybe two, hit their mark, but it was pure luck and merely incapacitated one of them. The rest of the rounds were either deflected by shields or they simply missed. Ki-ARA caught sight through the dust and debris of where the rounds had been fired from, though she remained quiet. The other three guards had not homed in on his position, and merely advanced towards the two behind the dumpster. But it was to no avail...
Vallance was already locked and loaded; waiting for his chance. At the perfect moment to strike, he rolled from behind the rusty dumpster and let a barrage of rounds from both of his guns blaze each and every one of the soldiers. In a matter of seconds, he'd dished out two headshots and a direct wound to the heart. The remaining soldier, still downed from Aeron's rounds looked up in confusion and pain. He tried to pull out his sidearm, but the detective was just as quick in dispatching him as he was with the others. After reloading, he double-checked for reinforcements and then towards the sound of where the gunfire came from. His eyes did not allow him to see through the dense smoke, though Ki-ARA glared right at Aeron with an intimidating smirk.
After a quick and cheeky salute from Ki-ARA, and a thankful (yet unperceptive) nod from the detective, they were both already on the move towards the northern docks. The ships were still turning, and were obviously not built for maneuvering in such rough conditions. This truly was a rushed job on the Admiralty's part.

Aeron Raynes
- Spoiler:
Aeron was surprised that he actually managed to hit anything in so dense a fog, but his distraction certainly gave the male a wide enough window to gun them down. While that had certainly been his intention in the first place, the man's skill was... intimidating. It was times like this, when he saw the deadliness of such dread pirates and smugglers, that he was glad he was no longer wearing the armour of an Admiralty soldier. As he frowned pragmatically at the sheer ferocity laid bare before him, he scanned the rest of the alleyway, and it was then he locked eyes with the presumed pirate's companion, the feline. She smirked, and he returned with a long stare, as if trying to judge her intent. Gritting his teeth, he retreated back into his nest, using it as an excuse to check the contents of his bag one last time. Everything was there.
When he popped his head back out, the man was already leaving, but the cat had decided to salute him mockingly, reminding him why he shunned the company of others, but he replied with a caw as she too ran, nonetheless. By now, he could hear sounds downstairs, the kind that he didn't fancy trusting his safety in. He sat on the windowsill, and edged himself into the fog, and before long he was falling through it. The ground came all too quickly, though, ending his flight with a harsh remainder that he was not a full-blood. There was no time to be wasting on that, though - he needed to get out of here. From what he could tell of the Admiralty's blitzkreig tactics, while they were lightning fast they were... rushed. This was not the surgical precision he remembered. A new commandant, perhaps? Those, however, were thoughts to consider when he was safe. Aeron headed to the north docks, in an attempt to follow the pirate and his consort.

Valkyrie Phonix
- Spoiler:
(Please refrain from controlling anybody other than your own character from now on, please! I'll be doing that from here onwards! Thanks, hun~ <3)
The bartender, having slipped her a small bottle filled with blue liquid, nodded to her in a thankful gesture as he received the payment from the Ryx'arian Phoenix. A few heads tossed and turned towards her as she left the establishment. Most of the males were checking her out, whilst the females silently cursed her for her divine (and rarely exotic!) beauty. A few of the males even dared to wolf-whistle, but Valkyrie was soon on her way down the street.
She'd hear loud sirens calling from above, and law-enforcing airships whizzing by overhead. She's also hear people shouting, glass shattering and gunfire blazing in the near-distance. The people in the streets, evidently rushing past her to avoid the commotion, almost knocked her over on the way by. Those who had bumped into her called: "Out of the way!", "Sorry!", and "Bloody bird!"
- Spoiler:
(Sorry I haven't replied, I kind of forgot and it became quite late and I'm a little behind, so I'll just make a general post to do with what's going on now... Again, I'm sorry '^_^ an hope what I put is okay for now..)
As she left she smiled to herself slightly as most stared at her, she knew that her beauty was rare and sometimes, when she felt like it she would use it to her advantage, acquiring rare and valuable parts for technology as well as resourceful connections which she could contact whenever she needed something. Leaving she turned towards the sound of the sirens as people pushed past her. Finally, some excitement! It had been a while since she had seen anything happen in Blackwater, she guessed mostly because these days she didn't leave her house much as she could do most of her work at home, including creating pieces of work for the apprenticeship she was 'on'. As she was about to head towards the sirens she realized that she was too busy to go today, giving that she had a lot of jobs to finish and now actually felt motivated to do something. So holding in her excitement she headed down the street with the crowd in the opposite direction until she reached the docks. She had been given a job not to long ago where she was asked to fix up someone's airship. This airship had seem some better days, but as she had already started work on it, it was already looking better. One, maybe two more days and it would be as good as new. She hoped only this one day as her motivation would soon vanish and it may take her quite a few more days before she even returned to finish it.

"Stop!" he shouted, calling out to Ki-ARA who was leading the way. "Not this way... we'll get caught in their next blitz. Besides, my ship isn't docked there..." he continued, reloading his weapons as he whizzed past her and took the lead. "My ship is currently under repair at The Dragon's Crag: the north-eastern caverns, but it should be in decent enough condition to get us out of here safely. They're old and rarely used these days, but the mechanic I've hired requested that I was to move it to a much quieter location so that she could work on it in peace. Seems I got lucky..." the detective grinned, scratching the back of his head in a sheepish manner.
He looked towards the torched skies and listened to the ascending pitch of the charging plasma cannons. They were about to let loose again now that the warships had gotten back into formation, it seemed.
"Can you send some data-source commands through an encrypted network in order to get my ship's engines up and running? I'd ask you to disable the warship cannons, but without a sophisticated hub to work from, that seems impossible." he implied cheekily, hoping that the feline liked a challenge. "From what I've heard and seen of you already, I imagine you're a walking hub in and of itself though, aren't ya?" he chuckled, taking a sharp turn over some back-roads. Not too far now... but without a crew, it's going to be tough...
"The identity protocol for my ship is V:130295. As for those warships, I imagine they're running from a A:0105-something or other. Can you do anything about them? Something to buy us enough time to get out of here in one piece?"

Vallance T. Flynn, Ki-ARA and Aeron Raynes As if the night couldn't get any darker, the suffering were soon proved wrong. The second barrage of cannonfire had not only decimated the eastern docks, but the shockwave from the impact had shattered the nearby power outlets. With the foremost of the electricity fluctuating, Blackdown had been tossed into total disarray. No power, no defense, no hope. Only Aveline herself could reverse the damage dealt, but she was not the type to be prayed to. She didn't answer to the calls of mortals, only the calls of distress in her own mind when the world was unbalanced. And this event? A speck of dirt on the window she watched through.
Vallance continued to lead the way, with Ki-ARA following closely at his side to provide enough light for the pair to see through the dense smoke. "Done." she managed, referring to starting up his ship's engines. "They're up and running: ready to go." Her mind was already calculating through algorithms and security protocols that barred her way to the plasma cannon's response unit. It was difficult, but after a few minutes, she eventually found a hole to charge through without being noticed.
"I'm in." she said, smiling to herself in accomplishment. "I've disabled them for approximately six or seven minutes, maybe a little more depending on how advanced their security reboot protocols are. I imagine they'll reboot with new encryption codes to crack after that, and I won't be able to do much about it. Each time the systems reboot, the code gets more complicated. I mean, I'm advanced, but I'd need a sophisticated hub to work from if I wanted to do anything else. But... from what I can tell, you have such a device integrated onto your ship, correct?"
Ki-ARA suddenly came to a halt and prompted Vallance to stop beside her. "Wait. We're being followed." she said, turning around. A hazy, feathery figure emerged in the dense dust gathered in the air. Aeron, panting and puffing, soon came into the clearing. Ki-ARA looked him over cautiously. "You're the one that fired at the soldiers earlier..."

Aeron Raynes- Spoiler:
The cough was getting worse, no doubt in part due to the vast quantities of dust and smoke being summoned forth by plasma and collapsing rubble. As he came spluttering out of the now pitch black alleyway, he was hardly in the mood for friendly conversation, and thus, came off a little colder than he would have deemed wise. "Yes, very perceptive of you. If y- CAW! Urgh, dammit... If you happen to come across another Ryx'arian albino crow, please inform me, I'm always up for making new friends," He creased his face, looking from one to the other, and then remembered who he was dealing with: pirates. He could toe the line, but he'd rather not fall to his death right this second. He softened his frown, and with a shrug of this shoulders, he was smirking. "Forgive me, you've caught me on a bad day. I assume you'll want to know the why. Why am I following you? Simple: Deadeye here can look after himself, and seeing as how neither of you two are dead... yet... I'm willing to bet that you have an ace up those sleeves. More than I have, at the very least..." He nodded slowly, folding his arms, tightly gripping the opposite upper arm with his talons. "And, if my helping you earlier didn't already buy my passage, I can pay, though I'd be much more willing to discuss that when I'm not under threat of being buried with the rest of this slag heap,"

| Vallance T. Flynn- Spoiler:
Vallance stepped forward, guns still drawn; as cautious as ever when dealing with strangers... especially when he knew that they were armed. "I had it covered, thanks." he said, casting an intimidating glare towards the male. "Besides, you didn't help much. The accuracy of your shots clearly suggested that you were shooting blindly through that smoke. I think you got lucky, and I'm surprised you didn't shoot one of us by accident."
The detective peered up at the ships for just a moment. It seemed like Ki-ARA had done her job well. He sneered, beckoning for the Ryx'arian Crow to follow. "No time to chit-chat. You want out of here, you follow me and my friend here... and do exactly as we say, alright? I won't think twice about putting a bullet between your eyes if you try anything funny."
Vallance stood with confidence; a clear sign that he wasn't messing around. "We've got about six minutes before this place is blown to hell, so let's not waste anymore time." he said, patting Ki-ARA on the shoulder to beckon her to follow. "I've got an airship waiting at The Dragon's Crag, and quite frankly... my Crow's Nest is going to be missing a crow." he grinned, talking over his shoulder as he ran. "I hope you're better with a rifle than you are with that relic of yours." he continued, still grinning to himself.

Aeron Raynes- Spoiler:
Following behind the pirate with growing irreverence, Aeron opted to play his petty little game. "And the lack of your own shots until I provided covering fire - you remember that, right? Purposely innaccurate fire to provide clear shots from another source - prove that you were in need of assistance. What you think is irrelevant. The facts? Once I provided that reprieve, you dispathed of them commendably, but not before," He was sure he'd laid a show of thanks in there somewhere, but perhaps he'd forgotten, again... But ah, no matter... In response the man's last few declarations, he picked up the pace, and even made an effort to set it, at times. He couldn't argue with his position in the Crow's Nest, despite the 'funny' quip that it came attatched with. Of course, he would relish the opportunity to look down on the brute, and, of course, it was his airship that they would be escaping on. His ship, his rules.

Vallance T. Flynn- Spoiler:
"I was waiting for an opportune moment. It wasn't hesitation... not at all. I know how to handle myself in these situations, y'know? I've been around The Frontier for far too long to know that four petty footsoldiers are no match for a skilled firearms expert like me." he called defensively, thinking back on the situation. "Either way, the footsoldiers paid no attention to you when you fired your rounds. It was ineffective, so they continued to advance on my position."
He took a moment to think some more, shaking his head. "Either way, we don't have time to argue. The fact is that we've made it through the catastrophe alive so far: with or without one another's help. We'll deal with formalities when we're out of this bloody mess." the detective stopped at a junction and quickly examined his surroundings. He was soon off in another direction.
Vallance took a sharp right turn and swiftly made his way down a set of cobblestone stairs. It lead him down to a cliff, and soon after, more stairs that curved around the ragged rocks and down to The Dragon's Crag. He could already hear the sound of his airship's engines roaring in the caverns below. "Almost there..."

| Vallance T. Flynn, Ki-ARA, Aeron Raynes, Valkyrie Phonix and the Airship- Spoiler:
Ki-ARA lead the bickering pair down the rocky staircase; the edge of the cliff so close, they could all feel their feet almost floating above imminent death; a clumsy misplacement surely ensuring a messy and fatal end against the dragon's teeth below. The roaring engines of Vallance's airship echoed throughout the Dragon's Crag, making it seem like the name actually had aptitude for once, and the caverns were once again brought to life. Flickering amber rays of light crept out of the cracks in the ragged rocks, and the faint smell of burning oil soon followed.
Their escape route eventually came into view as they entered the caverns. It was a magnificent airship with personal modifications made to ensure that it's systems were always up to date with even the most recently manufactured aeronautical transport devices. It had powerful cannons loaded into the keel on either side; enough power to match a vessel twice it's size. Its sails billowed in the light breeze of smoke and dust scattered from the surface; lined with light illumination modules that served as air-absorbers as well as providing sufficient light in dark atmospheres. The air was funneled down throughout the ship when in motion to serve a variety of purposes, including: air-conditioning, back-up power systems, and even aided the long-range sniper cannons by supplying extra pressure to the release, lock-and-load system. The sails were light and well-worn, grey when not lit up, and light blue when they were.
And then there were the two powerful engines. Both were at the back, blazing with a bright blue light as they stood in standby. Ki-ARA grinned at her handiwork.
Its Valentin engines made use of Etheris, a magical element found in the blood of certain species of rare skyfaring fauna, to power not only the aviation engines of an airship but the entire energy framework of a vessel. Furthermore, a very small mount of Etheris is required to power a ship's Valentin engines, and while the substance is highly unstable and dangerous to human beings if mishandled, its discovery changed aeronautics forever.
With the discovery of Etheris came the invention of Paling, a wondrous culmination of both magic and engineering. Palings are magical shields which enshroud airships, protecting them and absorbing significant amounts of damage. Paling technology (along with most military and scientific advancements throughout the ages) was developed by the Admiralty, and since the first Paling prototype was created, the technology has advanced significantly. The Admiralty has perfected Paling technology so much, that they have veiled Paradigm, as well as all ten of its Satellites, with great city-wide shields. Since the introduction of these greater Palings to their settlements, citizens of the Admiralty no longer face the dangers of the massive skybeasts which they once had to fight back.
Vallance's rather admirable airship had been named (as judged by the fanciful engravings carved and painted onto the bow of the ship): Skywarden V. Aptness seemed to be a running theme here, however well hidden it was.
Naturally, Vallance took the lead and was the first up the ramp. Ki-ARA followed closely, while Aeron remained cautiously hesitant and kept a fair distance. Vallance was soon at the Helm, while Ki-ARA was sniffing about inquisitively. Her eyes looked up towards the Crow's Nest, where a rather confused Ryx'arian Phoenix was looking down to meet her gaze. She immediately assumed that the female was the mechanic in the detective's employ, and smiled; beckoning her down with a gentle hand gesture. "We need to go!" she called, casting a short glance towards the half-crow beside her afterwards. "And you..." she said, turning to him. "We'll need covering fire! There's a rifle-cannon up in the Nest. You can handle that, right?" she smiled, genuinely showing a sign of friendliness: no mockery this time!
Meanwhile, Vallance had already hit a holographic switch on the interface that had appeared at the Helm in order to let the ship ascend. Ki-ARA looked around, scanning the ship's internal databases for blueprints, while Vallance then called out to the mechanic to get the Paling systems up and running as soon as possible. Time was ticking. 3 more minutes of immunity left...
For your posts. I'll give brief results for you all through Zero! (Dante) (Vallance is to roll Intelligence to maneuver the ship strategically.)
(Ki-ARA is also to roll Intelligence to save all of the information from Skywarden V's database onto her own.)
(Aeron is to roll Ranged Combat if he agrees to help out to determine the accuracy of his shots. You get a +2 to your result if you use the rifle-cannon. You may also relay information down to the Helm if you wish, which'll give Vallance a bonus.)
(Valkyrie, you must also roll Intelligence to determine whether or not you can get the Paling systems running (because they're broken). Ki-ARA may help you with this if she rolls high enough in her own test.)

Aeron Raynes- Spoiler:
Nodding curtly, Aeron let out a long, calming breath, and started towards the starboard rigging at a run. When the half-crow neared the rope, he lept up to it, managing a jump a metre or so high, whereupon he gripped at the hemp with his taloned arm, before swinging around onto the outer side, and beginning his ascent. As he rose, he looked to the bow, so that he might see out of the dragon's mouth, and to the city around and below.
When he first saw the orange light, hidden behind the billowing grey, he thought it the sunset, but with ever greater height, came ever greater understanding: Blackdown was burning. A thousand, thousand matches had been struck against the charcoal town, and everywhere there was fire, and where there was fire, there was smoke, which had risen sufficiently enough to become like clouds. The Admiralty though, as always, was above such mortal constraints as fire and death - like he should be - and looked down on the devastation from their pale horses - like he could be - as their ships were above the smoke - like he would be. Their underbellies were painted a golden orange which, to Aeron, made them almost look like angelic beings, blinded by their pursuit of purity. It made them so much easier to find when he finally reached the Crow's Nest.
The rifle-cannon itself seemed like a flintlock rifle, or rather, it would have, if not for the barrel. Past the cold grey metal of the handle, the barrel widened out expotentially; it must have been half a foot wide. In fact, it was so unwieldly, that the gun was fitting onto a small tripod, which was attatched to the wooden confines of the Nest. It kept it secure, but only allowed Aeron roughly a targeting area of 90 degrees.
He couldn't worry about that right now, however. Checking through the sights, he scanned the town, but found nothing of use there. The people were burning, too, or were already through the teleporters, if those hadn't been taken out already. Turning his crow's eyes towards the heavens, he could see the angels much clearer now. He turned his head down to the Helm "Oi, pirate! You've got three heavy cruisers, and a dreadnought. No doubt the Commander's there! Blackdown ablaze, too much smoke to fly close-to-ground! Their weapons are still down," He sat back down, and rested his sights upon the ships, watching for anything else that might be helpful to them all.

- Spoiler:
Noticing them, and the cat Ryx'arian call up to her, she soon slipped down the rope ladder and mast landing quickly on the deck. Unsure at first she nodded to the cat, then jogging to where the Paling was located, in the lower decks. Looking at the Paling quickly and skillfully she noticed where it was broken. It was broken quite badly, she didn't even know how it could break that much. Once she had done checking over the Paling she started getting her tools ready, which she carried around with her.
She found that even though it may have looked bad, it should be quite easy to fix, glad it wasn't a major problem such as the tank containing the Etheris leaking, that would of been hard to fix. Taking off one of the panels of the machine she looked inside with her torch, finding the problem almost instantly. Feeling the ship shake slightly she got to work. Slipping into the machine partly she held the torch in her mouth and began working on the problem. Simple. It only took her 2 minutes to fix it. Upon that the red dim lights turned green, the power was restored to the shields.
Placing the panel back, she didn't feel right, she felt like the machine was still broken. Not the shields, but something else. Checking the machine over she found the problem. The automated guns had been disarmed, she guessed due to the bombing or the before damage. Knowing that everyone, well mainly Vallance was depending on her. She took a deep breath to calm herself, and she quickly found the problem, one of the defense mechanisms which connected the guns to the sensors and shields had broken. Again, it was an easy task, she only had to replace part of the wire. Smiling she was glad she had bought extra, and of the right type to.
Once she had finished her work she sat down and watched over the Paling, as long as it stayed stable they wouldn't take any damage. "Phew, this was a good day's work.

| Vallance T. Flynn- Spoiler:
Vallance scanned his eyes over the complicated holographic interface set before him; though they analysed the information with a precision that showed he'd done this far too many times for his own good. He examined the altitude of the ship upon exiting the dragon's mouth, nodding to himself as he swiped the numbers upwards; sending the airship higher into the air. The sails billowed nicely, and the ship handled with a smooth yet swift edge to it; an evident sign that he knew what he was doing. A thick layer of black smoke covered the decks as they left the caverns, but the detective was sure to re-direct the air from the sails to take care of it. Another quick swipe on the interface, followed by a dash of command-number prompts to determine speed and the swiftness of the turn they were about to make, ensured the ship turned portside; tilted skilfully as they continued to soar - making them a particularly difficult target to keep track of.
"We're headed for portside, guys! They're flying in a triforce formation, with the dreadnought taking lead above the others." he called, letting his voice echo across the speaker-systems so all could hear. He'd already determined the direction of the wind; though it was no difficult task to accomplish for a master airship commander like him! The blue glow of the Paling then came online, coating the ship in a pseudo-magical barrier able to take the brunt of an attack from one of the warships. Indeed, he was impressed with Valkyrie's ability to work under pressure! The detective was keen on strategically placing them leeward (in favour of the wind) in order to gain a fair amount of acceleration, which would give them just enough speed to avoid most of their fire.
Vallance looked up to the crow's nest and saluted the half-crow to thank him for the relayed information, which he then took great care in using to their advantage. "We're much faster than they are, it seems." he said, comparing the data of their ships on-screen. He could see a holographic image of their ships rotating in front. All of the cannons were red, while the rest of the ship was blue. They had little timers next to them, indicating that they had about another minute and a half left before they could open fire.
Just enough time...
"I think we can make a straight run right between the two warships before they can do anything about it. We've got enough speed to get in between them, open fire on port and starboard, and then use the boosters to get out of range again." he said, contemplating the idea with a smirk. It was definitely a plausible idea, after all. "They'll be expecting us to just make a run for it, and are probably making a plan to intercept us accordingly, but if we head straight for them, we're killing two birds with one stone..." he took a moment to think. "No offence, you two..." he said, aiming the apology at Aeron and Valkyrie with a soft snicker: a friendly little gesture to show some respect for their good work so far.
"1. We'll be making haste towards the teleporters. If Ki-ARA can interlock our position quickly enough using the central hub on the lower decks, we can re-direct the teleportation fields using what power Blackdown has left in order to get us out of here. If we're lucky, we can be half-way towards the next system in a matter of seconds. That'd be a bonus... we'll still be out of range and quick enough to outfly them by the time the decide to pursue us."
"2. Idealistically, a barrage from from our cannons on each of their warships should do a nasty amount of damage. On top of that: if we can take out their engines, the gas from the Etheris will rise up to the dreadnought and cause system instability... not to mention harming anybody on deck who inhales the stuff. If the half-crow shoots at the dreadnought's keel as we fly under it, we can open up a hole and let that happen to the insides as well."
"Valkyrie, make sure our Paling doesn't go down." he said, speaking through the speakers once more. "Better safe than sorry, right?
He took a moment to confirm his thoughts again. They were sound and strategical; probably their best chance of escaping AND getting payback at the same time. It was almost genius of him. So, with that... he let Skywarden soar on par with the enemy and adjusted the position of the ship in a hasty, sharp turn portside some more. They were now facing the warships and the dreadnought, who were heading straight for them, it seemed. "No time to discuss it, anyway. We're going in, so be on your mark!"

Aeron Raynes- Spoiler:
As the ship sped forth from the dragon's maw, the push of the wind forced him against the edge of his nest, but he managed to regain his position just as the shimmering azure of the Pale swept over the space above him. His head could not have been more than four or five metres under it. Gripping tightly to the handle of the cannon, which also swivelled on its tripod, but was still more secure than he was, as they turned suddenly, he cawed down at the helmsman as the tannoy message cut out. He gazed down the sights, and felt himself shiver.
This is a really fucking stupid idea.
While he had little doubt that they could get out safetly... but his caution gnawed at his thoughts.
They won't be hunting for anyone, not after this cleansing... it would be too much to expend so much resources on hunting down individual tragets. If this is to be a new expedition, a new camaign, headed by this aggressive little cut-throat, then he's likely hit all major settlements to scatter and divide, not chase after small sparrows like this ship. So why is this idiot making a target of us all?! They won't hunt stragglers, but they will attackers, especially successful ones! They should be getting out, but instead they were going to be blazing a trail of fire and death through their lines, all for the glory of some jumped-up skypirate.
This man is not as clever as he thinks he is...
Despite his reservations, his face was made of stone as he tracked the dreadnought, though he really didn't have to. The thing was massive, and he couldn't have missed it if he'd tried. Slanted red orbs of plasma force their way from the barrel of the cannon, though once they were free, they shot upwards towards the keel with startling speed and precision, such that the recoil on the first shot almost made him cry out. He clenched his teeth however, and finished up the volley. The first shot shattered against the enemy Paling, which was a golden colour, as were all military vessels from Paradigm, to distinguish Admiralty it from lesser mortals, but it cracked like glass under its power, so that when the paling faded again, a bright orange tear could be seen in the space where Paling had suffered it's shot. The second shot broke through, leaving a hole, outlined in space like a bright orange gash, that almost seemed to bleed Etheris when Aeron looked at it closely. The third and fourth followed it through, and the three shots tore across the belly of the beast, which erupted with small explosions at the location of impact. When the smoke cleared, there was a great scar, and some poor dead souls floating about it.
That could have been me...
On reflection, perhaps these ships were not angels, but titans, to be brought down by the peudo-gods they currently were...
... and Aeron shivered when he remembered that the Titan King had first eaten his traitorous children before he died.

| The Skywarden V Crew- Spoiler:
Vallance, in a rather impressive maneuver, had swung the ship around whilst maintaining enough speed to keep them on track towards their intended destination: the portals. Strategically, his intentions were plausible - or more importantly - achievable. In fact, considering he had just a few minutes to come up with a plan, it was actually very impressive of him. And taking into account that he was no expert in the field of warfare, he had made use of his quick-thinking mind and intelligence to overcome the obstacle set before him - even if he had decided to get his own personal revenge on the Admiralty for being so idiotic: an idiotic act in itself.
In fairness however, he knew that he was going to get away with it. Under different circumstances, there was little chance of the detective taking such risky countermeasures. If he could do it... then why not? Surely they deserved it! Equivalent Exchange was such a fundamental law of Alchemy, and yet he'd applied it to the battlefield: his own vigilantism in the broken realm of the society placed before him. And whether he knew it or not, the detective had become a hero...
Those who watched from the burning wreck of a city below admired him, cheered for him and prayed for him. As Skywarden V soared swiftly beneath the dreadnought and set it alight, the survivors down below roared out his ship's name above the flames; shaking their fists to the starry and smoke-fumed skies: damning the Admiralty for all they had done. The cannons on port and starboard roared back, finishing off the other two warships in a single volley. Debris caught in the gravitational field idly drifted about with the corpses of those who served the military's ships. But it wasn't a gruesome or grotesque sight. It was justice in the eyes of the people. As a detective and enforcer of the law, that was all that mattered... right?
Maybe Vallance knew it all too well. He definitely didn't expect Aeron, or the rest of the crew, to understand the sophistication of his actions. No... not at all.
((Permission to clarify some of Vallance's thoughts gotten from my pup! :3))
Ki-ARA stood on deck, examining the midnight purple portals glowing in the near distance. As the ship drew in, the purple lights mixed with the ambient blue glow of the Paling, causing the stability of the power-systems on-board to spark. After a few seconds, it stabilized again, preventing the whole ship from spontaneously combusting in open-space. She stepped towards the edge of the ship and leaned against the wooden safeguards; looking down at the chaos below. Recording with her eyes, she saved the footage of the large group of survivors left chanting for them.
And then they were gone. In a flashy, purple haze... Skywarden V and its crew had disappeared into the nether-regions of space, soaring idly in place. Ki-ARA remained silent for a moment, soon to be standing at Vallance's side to congratulate him on a job well done. She called for everybody to meet at the helm. A meeting was most definitely in order...
((Sorry this was a little hasty. I really didn't want to linger in Blackdown for much longer, y'know? Forgive mehhh! :3))

| Vallance T. Flynn.- Spoiler:
Vallance took a moment to calm himself down. The adrenaline was pumping, and he was rather proud of his clever tactics that had gotten them out of the rather sticky situation. He could feel his heart beating rapidly, l almost like the drums of war calling to him. By no means necessary was he an expert in the art of warfare, but he certainly had some aptitude for it. More than most, at least. Either way, now that the sound of flames and deathly screams had all but disappeared, he could actually hear himself think. Idly drifting about in the Cloudsea was surprisingly therapeutic, especially now that the distant stars provided a light ambiance, and the sound of the roaring airship engines had been engaged into standby mode. The dull whistling of metal blades turning almost reminded him of an office with an overhead ceiling. A fond memory clung to his mind for a moment, but it was interrupted by the sound of Ki-ARA's voice calling everybody to the helm.
Vallance snapped himself out of his vivid moment of daydreaming, leaning idly against the brass-lined console in front. It had bronze over-patterns and fanciful designs carved into the maple trim, giving it an autumn vibrance that most military ships lacked. It was a comforting appeal. Almost as comforting as having an half-naked Ryx'arian Feline stood beside him, who seemed to be purring in delight. He shook some more images from his mind. This time they were a little more lewd. He couldn't help but drift between the feline and the phoenix for a moment longer.
His eyes were glazed with a hint of passion as he turned to smile at Ki-ARA. He snickered to himself and shrugged, adding a layer of mystery to his apparent thoughts. He then overlooked the deck with a similar expression, waiting for the others to turn up at the helm.
((No need to sugarcoat the fact that he's waiting around for the others, so just a short and idle-minded post this time.))

| Aeron Raynes
- Spoiler:
And then, they were gone. There was fire, there was death, and then there was silence. The half crow slumped down against the side of the Nest, and leant his head back against it. His chest was punishing his cautious with adrenaline-fueled thumping. He gazed over his human hand, and it almost seemed to shake, before he put it back in its place. For a rare moment, Aeron listened. Instead of the hustle and bustle, the witticisms and criticisms, and all of the other existential, metaphorical rubbish that usually cluttered his mind, all he could hear was the low hum-drum of the engines as they slowed to a calmer pace.
Above the engine, he heard the siren song of the Captain's... 'companion', his escort. Aeron looked upon his hands again. "I am alive..." he dared to say. He had been terrified that if he had been too premature in those words, he would have destined his doom. But he hadn't. He was safe. Whether he thought their sloppy or not was irrelevant; they had survived. That, now even he had to concede. Looking out over the edge of the Nest, he saw that two of the four had already gathered. Tentatively, he made his way down.
Upon landing, the Ryxarian headed straight for the pair, wrapping his coat around him as he proceeded - he was quite a bit colder without the all-consuming fire about him - and coiled his arms around that. Maintaining his all purpose, ever-the-pragmatic frown, he stood before them for a good couple of seconds, peering from one, to the other, and then back again. Eventually, he shrugged, noting off-handedly:
"Well, we're alive, at least,"
Grateful or not, Aeron wasn't in a celebratory mood. He was too tired, both emotionally, and physically.

| Valkyrie Fonix- Spoiler:
The ship, vibrating from the blasts, glowing a vibrant blue mixed with red, the burning colours from the fires below all soon stopped. Looking around she felt the calmness and saw it, the dark blue of the sky outside filled with glistening stars. She felt her adrenaline rush, the first time in a long time. It made her fell good, this is what she enjoyed, the adrenaline of something exciting every once in a while. Stretching the engines soon slowed to a gentle pace which gave her a chance to sort her tools out.
Not too long after the escape the cat Ryxarian called for all of them to come swiftly to the helm for a meeting. Knowing she would be seeing Vallance again. It made her heart flutter slightly and she straightened herself out, cleaning her clothes quickly as well. Leaving the lower decks, she made her way up to the decks. Looking up at the sky she smiled, it was really amazing. Not feeling the cold she made her way into the helm, noticing that the 3 others were already there waiting for her.
Coming in slowly she discreetly avoided the crow and cat and went and stood on the other side of Vallence, looking up at him and smiled. "I did a good job right? I'm glad I could help.. Vallence..." She looked away going red a little, which wasn't that obvious on her yellow toned skin.

| Ki-ARA- Spoiler:
Once the crew had gathered at the helm, she turned her attention towards Valkyrie. A soft smiled edged across her lips, allowing her to momentarily put her pointy little fangs on show. Her long tail whipped back and forth behind her plump rear. During the time it'd taken for Valkyrie to arrive from the lower decks, she'd donned a long trench-coat from the storeroom nearby. It was decorated with a variety of different feathers, a sure sign that it was expensively tailored: especially considering the quality of the fabric was extraordinarily rich and textured*. It hung on her in a weighty fashion, as it was evidently suited for men. Nevertheless, she showed no expression that declared her neat posture broken, and remained vigilant in her endeavours to display some authority. She certainly looked the part all of a sudden.
"I'm impressed, miss." she said, adding a tone of class to her voice. It was almost like some form of joke, probably issued to make her and Vallance smile; though underlying tones suggested otherwise. "You got those shields up swiftly and promptly, just like we asked."
"And you, sir." she said, turning to the half-crow. She held out her hand to greet him a little more formally. "I expect you've had military training considering your use of that heavy weaponry up in the Crow's Nest. There aren't many people out there who know how to correctly use weaponry that's stolen from the admiralty. Have you served aboard a military vessel, or perhaps a stolen Admiralty airship? Either way, thank you for your help."
Ki-ARA was about to turn to the detective, but her thoughts managed to get the better of her. "I'm sure the captain will be more than happy to drop you off at the nearest settlement, too."
And finally, she turned to Vallance. "Captain..." she began, offering a formal salute and a bow of the head. "Nice work back there. Your commandeering was as skilful as ever." she took a moment to clear her throat of grog. "Your orders though, captain? We're in Deadsea, at the moment. Nothing but empty space."
((*Feathers will now label the "high-end value" of hand-tailored items, rather than actual labels. Colour will be the main determiner, followed by the origin of the feather itself. In rare cases, the latter takes lead. In this case, the shoulders are decorated with the white feathers of a swan. This gives it a fair amount of class and would be considered a respectable item of clothing to wear.
I don't expect this to turn up often, but I do have plans for a later plotline. Consider this to be foreshadowing, if you will.))

| Aeron Raynes- Spoiler:
The slightest of feelings flickered within his eyes as he looked to the feline. He stood there in still silence for a few minutes more, though whatever had happened was quite, quite curious. He held his stare, and considered a vast reply of responses, ranging from the in-depth and maximally truthful, to the absurd and simply false, before he decided upon a course. His voice was much more shrill than earlier now, almost a whisper.
"Temporarily," he uttered, as if the word was an expletive. He was still aware of who he'd allowed himself to be surrounded with and as such, had attempted a tone that brooked no conversation on the topic; he hardly wanted to talk about his past with these untrustworthy sorts. Though his grip was stiff, and so obviously wary, he shook her hand with his human one, despite his temptation to use his crow-claw.
Retreating then, he took a step back from her, and forced himself to look at the pirate captain, this... Vallance? Vallence? He nodded knowingly, with a new, if suspiscious courtesy, as his claw began to tap methodically against the side of his thigh.
"Where are we to make port? I... Don't intend to linger," If he was honest, that was the only thing he was sure on at that moment. He didn't know where he wanted to go, only that this Ryxarian made him uncomfortable in a way that was worry-some indeed. Though it may have been somewhat of an over-reaction, in his experience, former servicemen and women didn't intend to last long the moment they started re-living their time in the services.

| Vallance T. Flynn- Spoiler:
Vallance, though frightful in his work, had nothing ignoble about him. Probity, sincerity, candor, conviction, the sense of duty, are things which may become hideous when wrongly directed; but which, even when hideous, remain grand: their majesty, the majesty peculiar to the human conscience, clings to them in the midst of horror; they are virtues which have one vice, – error. The honest, pitiless joy of a fanatic in the full flood of his atrocity preserves a certain lugubriously venerable radiance. Without himself suspecting the fact, the detective in his formidable happiness was to be pitied, as is every ignorant man who triumphs. Nothing could be so poignant and so terrible as this face, wherein was displayed all that may be designated as the evil of all things good.
Yet this man was chased by his own thoughts, ran down to his last vivid spectacle so that they may sit and listen to one another's tales. His mind, no more focused on reality than it was on the deep, dark sea of the stars, shunned thoughts of grace; adding to that lugubrious manner that he seemed to pursue, and adding to that peremptory aura that all great airship captains seemed to display. He certainly had the smile for it, too. The detective had one of those rare smiles with a quality of eternal reassurance in it, one that you may come across four or five times in life. It faced, or seemed to face, the whole external world for an instant and then concentrated on somebody with an irresistible prejudice in their favor. It understood them just as far as they wanted to be understood, and believed in them as they would have liked to believe in themselves.
Vallance examined the two avians carefully as he paced back and forth, giving each of them a thankful nod for their work as he came to a halt. The sole of his foots clamped heavily in place as he took a mere moment to think, and then eventually, spoke of the answer the half-crow so wished for. He slipped a datacube from his pocket, and spoke a command to light the helm with a digital map of the nearby star-system. He examined his options carefully, and eventually came to a sound decision. "Xir'borin. Temporary homeplanet of the Ryx'arians." he said, coursing a chart for them. "Yes, we'll head there to restock our supplies and hire a carpenter to repair any damage we took in the blaze back there."
His eyes suddenly turned to the phoenix, and his smile exuded a slight hint of charm. He then slipped the datacube into a slot on the wheel, which turned the cogs within. It functioned like a key, causing all of the systems to start up again. "Valkyrie," he began, still smiling at her. "Could you please refuel the engines and apply the cooling adhesive to the lower cogs and pistons? Oh, and make sure that the paneling shields is no longer absorbing the foremost of our power anymore. They're not going to be needed for now. I'll take the helm with Ki-ARA and make haste for our destination."
His gaze shifted to the half-crow, his eyes showing a slight glimmer of respect as he mentioned working for the Admiralty. He shrugged it off casually, clearly playing his part well enough, it seemed. "And you, half-crow..." he began again, meaning no offense in the slightest. "I have faith that you can make yourself useful aboard an airship like this one. You can take stock, sweep the decks, reload the cannons, maintain the stability of the sails, or you can take viewpoint in the crow's nest again. The choice is yours. Once we arrive at Xir'borin, you are free to do as you wish."

| Valkyrie Fonix- Spoiler:
She smiled slightly at the feline, accepting the compliments then giving a slight curtsy. "It was nothing really...". She looked away from her, moving slightly closer to Vallance as she felt safe there. Looking no where in particular she waited to hear what would happen next, ignoring most of the actions the crow did and said.
As Vallance's boots echoed as he made his way across the room she looked to him, smiling as he nodded towards her, acknowledging her work, watching him stop in front of the crow. As he then took out the data-cube, her curiosity got the better of her. Beaming to herself, she gazed at the craftsmanship, obviously created by a master of the craft. She noticed how well made it was, right down to the smallest details not many would notice. Even the projection it showed was well made as it showed every detail of the star-systems known to man. But soon her curiosity stopped as soon as he mentioned her home planet, ' Xir'borin '. In all her years since leaving she never thought that she would be returning this soon, after still not getting over the reason why she left. It pained her as he said it, causing her chest to throb with pain, and her scar to ache from the memories. She so wanted to protest about landing there, but she couldn't, her mouth wouldn't open to say the words, and anyway she had no right over the matter.
As he faced her, showing one of his charming, and quite dashing smiles she hid the pain and smiled back at him, not wanting him to worry for her. Perking up a little as he said her name, said so softly and sweetly she nodded as he asked more of her, to carry out her duty. "Of course, right away! Vallance.." At that she left the helm and headed back down the stairs to continue with her work. First she went to the monitor for the defenses and power, turning down the paneling shields to minimum defense since there should be no danger now they were in a safer area. Taking of the luxurious coat she placed it neatly down on a chair, not wanting to get it dirty. Grabbing what she needed, the cooling adhesive and fuel she headed further into the ship to see to the engine and works as he asked. First tying her hair up she opened the engine and poured the correct amount of fuel in, this time being careful not to get it on herself like she had in the past, which lead to panic and fire. Then moving on she applied the cooling adhesive to the cogs and pistons. Happy with her work she headed back up to the power monitor room.
Smiling she put her tools away and started humming a lullaby to herself as she put everything away. Finishing after a while she takes her leave and decided to go see Vallance in the helm, hoping now she can spend some time with him as she hasn't had a chance yet, since its been a while since they've actually seen each other due to work. Walking in, Vallance still seemed to be busy with work, well having to make sure that the journey to ' Xir'borin ' was a safe one. So she silently stood at the door gazing at him, content... well for now.

| Aeron Raynes
- Spoiler:
Aeron inclined his hybrid head silently, and a sliver of sweat swept itself away, thanks to the force of motion.
"I can count," he started, his mind finishing with 'unlike you'. "So I'll be checking stocks, if anyone needs me... It's to the under-decks and the cargo holds I go, I take it?"
Without waiting for an answer, he left them there, and descended into the lower bowels of this pirate's exceedingly humble abode. Down there, he found the gun-deck; an entire floor dedicated to the ship's cannon, obviously, and against his own desires, he moved onwards at a brisk pace, lest he be found staring at the captain's armaments. And not doing his job.
Below there, he found the counting room - a small, well-lit cabin, with a bare chair, a tawny table, and a leather-bound ledger - and behind it, the ship's hold. When he sat in the chair, he took up a pen, and leaned backwards, chewing on the end of it. It was then that the half-crow noted the sudden, shrewd silence. This initially caused him some measure of alarm, before he remembered that the low, droning humming that had punctuated the quiet at the back of his mind, for such a while, had been the Paling, and that phoenix must've simply powered it down.
Now with his own thoughts, he loomed forwards again, over the ledger. Idly flicking through the book - which he noted, curiously, had no note of any treasures - he pondered on the choice of destination. Xir'borin meant nothing to him; it was only the home-world of some crow that his great, great, great grandmother had wedded, and bedded. Presumably it was a great scandal, in the day. Though, considering he had a rather strange affection, and appreciation, for his own qualities (and the odd mutations of biology that had made those genes so dominant in him) it -might- actually be 'fun' to explore a society where such... social disfigurements were not stigmatized (or at least, he hoped not). Hells, they might even be celebrated (or at least, he hoped so, though quieter).
